Ma-Kōbō is a hon-kintsugi studio offering ceramic repair, workshops, and retreats in Colorado and Costa Rica.

Through the Japanese art of hon-kintsugi, each vessel is carefully studied before restoration begins. Layers of natural urushi lacquer rebuild what was broken, allowing strength to return over time. The final shimmer of gold, silver, or other metal is only an accent, a quiet reminder of the care beneath.

Kintsugi does not hide damage. It accepts that every object carries its own history, allowing repair to become part of that story rather than an attempt to erase it.
