HANDS + TABLE

Learning Kintsugi is not simply acquiring a technique it is entering a rhythm. Each repair unfolds slowly, guided by layers of natural lacquer and time itself. Students quickly discover that the finishing; in gold, silver, or other metals is only the final gesture. The true practice is in the waiting, the sanding, the patience between each layer.

At Ma Kōbō, I teach hon-kintsugi, the traditional method, in small groups. These retreats and courses invite you to work with your hands, to slow down, and to experience the quiet beauty of repair.

Alongside Kintsugi, I host seasonal gatherings under the theme Hands + Table. These workshops bring people together around craft and food: sewing, incense-making, bookbinding, and more. Each ends with a shared meal, because the table is as important as the work itself.

Workshops are offered seasonally in both Colorado and Costa Rica. Private retreats are available year-round.
